Rita Ora Is Trying to Re-Create “Lady Marmalade” With Charli XCX, Miley Cyrus & Iggy Azalea The Source October 12, 2015 Her Source, Uncategorized Well here’s an interesting bit of news. Remember “Lady Marmalade”? Your older sister probably does. The 2001 hit recreation by Pink, Lil Kim, Mya and Christina Aguilera was the #1 song in the country for 5 weeks, and instantly became one of the year’s biggest anthems. The song had a lasting impact on Rita Ora, who said in this interview with The Sun that she has intentions of recreating the song with some of her contemporaries, namely Miley Cyrus, Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX. It’s always been my goal to create another ‘Lady Marmalade.’ I’m trying to round up the troops – I think it would be me, Miley [Cyrus], Charli XCX – she’d be fun – and Iggy. The three proposed featured artists have all experienced considerable pop success over the past couple years, Iggy and Charli of course with “Fancy,” and Miley Cyrus released a couple chart-toppers of her own in 2013. Sure, the cast makes sense, but should they be appearing in this particular movie? Sound off in the comments.
