Designers Max and Lubov Azria unveiled the Spring 2014 Hervé Léger by Max Azria collection at the Theatre at Lincoln Center. Notable attendees included Nicki Minaj, Cara Santana, and Atlantic artist, Lauriana Mae to name a few. Lauriana also performed at the BCBG and Herve Leger after-party at the Top of the Standard presented by Billboard.
Q: What brings you out to fashion week?
Lauriana: Fashion brings me out to Fashion Week. I love fashion, I’m just so excited to be wearing the Herve Leger collection, getting to preview the spring collection. I’m really excited. I’m performing at the after-party.
Q: Tell me about your personal style.
Lauriana: I try to keep it classic, timeless, and fun at the same time.
Q: Are you from New York originally?
Lauriana: From New Jersey originally…I’ve grown up around the city my whole life.
Q: Tell me about your album?
Lauriana: I love how it’s coming along. The music is just getting richer and richer and more personal and it’s pretty much almost done now, so I’m excited to start sharing.
Q: And you also collaborated with Cee Lo on “Only You.” What was that like?
Lauriana: Actually, it was an amazing experience. He is one of those artists who is a legend and I’m just fortunate to be on the record with him.
Q: You also collaborated with B.O.B. on “Chandelier,” can you tell me about working with him?
Lauriana: I loved working with B.O.B. and he’s just got a great energy. He’s a fun guy and we’ve gotten to hang out a couple of times after. Looking forward to the next time.
Q: Tell me about some of the musicians who inspired you growing up or people you really admire?
Lauriana: People I really admire…as a songwriter, Billy Joel definitely, my all-time favorite. Marvin Gaye, Billie Holliday as a singer I loved her voice, Ella Fitzgerald. I could go on forever.
Q: So the jazzy music?
Lauriana: Jazzy, yeah. Jazzy vocals definitely.
Q: Anything else you want to add about being at Fashion Week?
Lauriana: I just wanna add that this is a little girl’s dream come true and I’m really excited.
Alexander Wang also had one of the more buzzworthy front rows at Fashion Week. Kanye West, Courtney Love, Terry Richardson, Kerry Washington, Solange Knowles, Miguel and Natasha Lyonne were all in attendance.
The big names at the after-party were: Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Solange. Other attendees included A$AP Rocky, Jesse Metcalfe and Ashley Madekwe. The Source Magazine was invited to the after-party as a guest of Fiji Water. Check out our exclusive video of Nicki performing at the bash.
