The Adidas Stan Smith is one of the biggest shoes in the world right now, and one of the best-selling Adidas models of the past two years.

Unfortunately, as stylish as these kicks are you won’t catch a pair on anyone’s feet at Thornleigh Salesian College, a secondary school located in the UK. Reports coming from Bolton News claim that the administration now has strict restrictions on wearing the black colorway of Stan Smiths.

According to reports, the black Stan Smith colorway is a violation of the school’s uniforms and portray a certain image. Students have come forward complaining that they’ve been wearing the shoes since September and school administration is just now taking action. A parent had this to say about the rule:

“All the kids are wearing Stan Smith-style shoes—which are black leather lace-ups—they’re not trainers. But now the school has said pupils are not allowed to wear them,” one parent said. “I will buy my children new shoes before the start of the new academic year, but not just before the year ends.”
