Poised to make another strong playoff push, the Los Angeles Clippers championship aspirations might have just gone up in smoke following last night’s Game 4 matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. 5-time All-star Blake Griffin will miss the rest of the playoffs after re-aggravating his left quad during last night’s game. This is the same quad that he inured during a Christmas Day game against the LA Lakers in 2015. Griffin underwent an MRI this morning (April 26), which revealed that he does not have anymore structural damage, allowing him to be ready for the start of next season’s training camp.
What might be the most devastating blow to the franchise is the loss of superstar point guard Chris Paul. CP3 went down in the 3rd quarter of last night’s game with a hand injury and this morning, he underwent surgery to repair a fracture in his right hand. The prognosis for Paul is that he will be out indefinitely. As it currently stands, the Clippers are tied 2-2 with the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
