Australian producer M-Phazes originally hails from the Gold Coast (Queensland) and now calls Melbourne home. His style is best described as a combination of neo-soul and boom bap with a modern twist. Drawing inspiration from the likes of J Dilla, DJ Premier and Kanye West, M-Phazes has created an original sound that is uniquely his own. He has worked with some of Australia’s best, such as Bliss N Eso, Drapht, Hermitude, Brad Strut, Mantra, Def Wish Cast, N’fa of 1200 Techniques, Pegz, Delta and Illy, as well as several U.S artists including Eminem, Talib Kweli, Heltah Skeltah, Royce 5’9”, C. L. Smooth, Pharoahe Monch, Edo G, Redman, M.O.P., Oddisee and Xzibit.

With a powerful head nodding performance, M-Phazes took out Sha Money XL’s prestigious 2008 ‘One Stop Shop’ Beat Battle, which was judged by DJ Premier, Swizz Beatz, Sha Money and Denaun Porter. This accolade granted him future international exposure, and since then he has produced gold, platinum and double platinum selling works across Australia, New Zealand and the U.S. He also has a handful of albums, including the ARIA award-winning album Good Gracious (2010), Phazed Out w/ DJ Rhettmatic (2012), Land Of The Crooks EP w/ the late great Sean Price (2013), and has branched outside of Hip Hop in a variety of genres to continue his musical exploration.

M-Phazes received Billboard and Grammy awards for his co-production work on the track “Bad Guy” from Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP2, and also received the 2015 Urban Work of the Year APRA award for his co-production on the track “Tightrope,” taken from Australian artist Illy’s album Cinematic.

This top-notch producer is still on the rise, currently working on his new album, as well as some remixes and production credits for variety of Australian and international artists.
