New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis had a stellar rookie season with the team, showing flashes of brilliance that leaves fans hopeful for the franchise’s future. Being hailed as the team’s savior, Kristaps has been given the nickname “Porzingod,” which has taken on a life of its own. Two New York filmmakers took things a giant step further by creating their own comedic short on the Latvian star, which is set to premier at the Tribeca Film Festival today.

With that, a brief teaser clip starring actors John Leguizamo and Adam Mucci has surfaced online and finds the pair praying to a Kristaps Porzingis shrine. Speaking with the New York Post, the film’s producer Tyler Byrne gave some insight on the inspiration behind the short.

“Porzingis is referred to as “The Holy No. 6” and “the messiah begotten by divine Latvian conception. It’s really for all those long-suffering Knicks fans and an homage to the team’s history. We’ve taken it to the most ridiculous extreme.”
