Don’t Believe the Hype

When the successor to the Nike Air Yeezy 2 was unveiled as an Adidas product dressed in a stark grey colored upper, some immediately hoped for subsequent alternate color way drops.  The adidas Yeezy 750 boost was released and sold out just as quickly as one might would have expected. In an interview with Power 105.1 in February, the sneakers creator Kanye West stated to the Breakfast Club, “We coming with the black ones real soon.”  Since the onset of the adidas and Kanye partnering, a total of 3 shoe models and 8 color options have hit store shelves yet people have clung on to the notion of the “black ones”.  In comparison to the limited three color variations of each Ye devised Nike silhouette,  adidas x YZY seems to be satiating the public to larger avail but it seems as if the sneaker communities strong desire for more has now resulted in an unfortunate situation.

Recently news has sprung up suggesting the black version of the initial Yeezy boost will see release in December, combined with a host of purported images of the shoe.  Ibn Jasper, West’s close confidant and personal barber has spoken his mind via social media on the allegedly soon to occur drop of the luxe kicks and the leaked images of the long rumored item.

In terms of Yeezy release details, IBN Jasper is consistently and completely in the know.  His Instagram previously revealed detailed images of the adidas x Yeezy 750 boost when there were none present at the time.  His claims in response to the current hubbub surrounding the reportedly imminent release of the black 750 boost should destroy any notion that the hype should be believed.  Fans fervently interested in receiving their first or next pair of Yeezy’s will have to wait a bit longer while we await official word from Adidas or any member of the Kanye West/Kim Kardashian clique.
