Classic Mr. West, folks
Last night, Kanye West performed at the Pan-Am Games Opening Ceremony, despite being met with some opposition from purists who were upset that the Chicago rapper wasn’t from Canada.
Tweets from fans and media personalities attending (or watching) the festivities indicated that West was performing his usual larger than life medley of hits, until something rather unfortunate occurred.
West’s mic cut off.
Same, Kanye. Same.
So, Yeezy did what any logical Yeezy would do when a mic goes dead on one of the world’s largest stages, with millions watching, and tens of thousands hanging onto his every last syllable in Toronto: chuck the mic so high in the sky the cameras didn’t catch it falling, and leave. Check out some video footage of both the broadcast and a live clip above and below.
