Records are made to be broken, but icons will forever live on

History was made on the night of September 18, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia. Playing host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on live national telecast of Thursday Night Football on CBS, the Atlanta Falcons annihilated and completed dominated the Bucs on their way to a 56-14 whooping. The 56 points the Buccaneers allowed, was the 2nd most points they gave up in franchise history. But the highlight of the evening was the record breaking punt return by kickoff and punt return specialist, Devin Hester. Already a blow out as his Falcons were destroying Tampa Bay 35-0, Hester showcased why he’s amongst the all time greats in special teams as he “shakes and bakes” through the defense while doing his best Deion Sanders high step, en route to a record breaking 20th career return touchdown in the 2nd quarter. After the game, “Primetime” gave an emotional praise to Hester as both were fighting back tears of joy, expressing deep appreciation and gratitude towards one another.

The Atlanta Falcons improved to 2-1, as their week 4 will be the Minnesota Vikings on September 28. Expect more run back to the house by Hester who slowly proving his critics wrong of believing that he lost a step or two. The 9 year veteran from out of the University of Miami is bound to be on a couple of ESPN Sportscenter top ten plays as the season progress.

Omari feels like Devin Hester breaking the tie for most career return touchdowns in Atlanta was a historical moment in more reasons than one. He believed that it was special it was done at the house “Primetime” started his career at and it was only right he makes his mentor proud by breaking the tie while his mentor is in attendance.
