Show him the money.
Justin Verlander’s latest contract extension exceeds Felix Hernandez’s contract making him the highest pitcher in the history of the MLB. Verlander signed a 5-year $180 million dollar extension that includes a vesting option bumping the money to a possible $202 million. What this contract does is keep Verlander in a Tigers uniform through 2019, Verlander also took to his twitter to make a promise to the Tiger faithful.
I love this city & the fans – couldn’t be more excited to spend my career here! We’re going to bring a World Series to Detroit!!!
